Shield Description
The Ole Salty Leather Firefighter Helmet Shield is the skull-and-crossed-axes design in the collection. Its illustrated center combines a firefighter skull with crossed axes, creating a distinct motif from the simpler Axe shield and the rank-focused Bugle shield.

Skull and crossed axes artwork
The Ole Salty centerpiece is fixed around the skull-and-axes theme. Custom colors and wording can change the individual presentation, but the product’s reason to rank remains the illustrated Ole Salty artwork.
Each shield is made from full-grain leather and hand painted. The textured leather surface shown in the gallery supports the artwork and lettering. Current variants are organized by shield dimensions rather than separate texture, beveling, or artwork selections.
This is a fixed illustrated theme rather than a general artwork-upload product. Customers needing original department artwork should use the separate Full Custom shield.
Custom identification around the artwork
Keep longer department names and nicknames concise enough to work with the available space. The live preview should be used to check spelling, capitalization, text size, and the balance between the identification fields and the central illustration.
Sizing and mounting
Choose the dimensions that match the helmet and shield holder from the six available sizes. Measure before ordering. Ole Salty ships unpunched so the mounting holes can be positioned for the customer’s hardware.
