The photo is just to confirm you are sending an actual helmet shield and not a piece of paper, screenshot, mockup, or random mystery item. Condition is not the concern. Beat up, worn, ugly, and retired shields are exactly what this program is built for.
Can I trade in a competitor helmet shield?
Yes. Competitor-made helmet shields are allowed if you own the shield or have permission to surrender it.
Can I trade in a custom helmet shield?
Yes. An old custom helmet shield can be submitted for trade-in review as long as you own it or have permission to surrender it. The 20% discount just does not apply toward new LRC full custom shield orders.
Can I trade in a department-issued shield?
Not unless you have permission from the department or rightful owner. Do not trade in department property, agency-issued shields, or anything you are expected to return.
Does the discount apply to full custom shields?
No. The trade-in discount does not apply toward new LRC full custom shield orders. It applies only to eligible standard shield designs that can be customized directly on the website.
Do I get a code or a refund?
Either one. After approval, you can mail the old shield first and receive a 20% code after LRC receives it, or you can order first and receive a 20% refund after the approved trade-in shield is received.
Who pays shipping?
The customer pays to ship the old shield to Little River Customs. Tracked shipping is strongly recommended.
Can I use this to replace an old helmet shield?
Yes. This program is made for replacing old, worn, retired, custom-made, or competitor-made leather fire helmet shields with an eligible standard custom helmet shield from Little River Customs.
What is an eligible standard helmet shield?
An eligible standard helmet shield is a standard LRC shield design that can be customized directly on our website. Full custom designs, special design work, shipping, taxes, rush fees, and add-ons are excluded.
Can I stack the trade-in with another discount?
No, not by default. Trade-in discounts cannot be combined with other shield discounts, sales, or promotions unless LRC approves it.
What happens to the old shield?
Once received, the trade-in shield becomes property of Little River Customs. Approved trade-in shields may be retired to our in-store Shield Wall, displayed, archived, recycled, or disposed of at LRC’s discretion.
