It turned out perfect, just how I wanted it!
The Backdraft Fire Helmet Front is the ornate double-beveled design in the Little River Customs helmet-shield lineup. It combines upper and lower banners, a large center identifier, and decorative scrollwork for firefighters who want depth and fine-line detail without moving into the stacked construction used on the High Roller.
Use the live preview to enter department, company, rank, name, or other short identification. The available product options let you choose a Standard layout, add clipart at the top, or select Scroll Work. A separate texturing option controls where texture appears: none, center and top, top only, or center only.
Because artwork and texture are selected independently, review the complete preview rather than assuming a gallery photo represents every choice. The photographs show several finished color combinations, border treatments, text arrangements, and mounted examples.
Backdraft is handmade from full-grain leather and uses pronounced beveling around its banners and center field. The scrollwork provides the design’s identifying visual language, while the large central zone keeps the primary identifier prominent.
Six height-and-width combinations are available. Measure the helmet’s shield holder before selecting a size. The finished shield ships unpunched so its mounting holes can be positioned for the customer’s hardware.
Choose Backdraft when selectable scrollwork, clipart, and texture placement are the deciding features. Choose the High Roller Firefighter Helmet Shield when you want its premium layered layout, raised center treatment, and optional bugle-centered configuration. Keeping those roles separate makes it easier to select the right ornate design before customization begins.
Confirm all text, spelling, capitalization, colors, option selections, and dimensions in the live preview before submitting a personalized order.
The scroll accents also give departments a repeatable visual framework for coordinated individual shields.
Choose height first. Measure from the brim where the shield’s bottom sits to the top notch where the shield seats in the holder, not the top of the eagle or ornament. Choose the closest available height at or slightly below that measurement. Round down slightly between sizes.
Example: 6.3″ of available height → a 6.25″-tall shield. A 6.5″-tall shield is too tall.
Then make a quick width check. Width usually falls in line once height is chosen. Measure outside-to-outside across the mounting studs or screws and add ¾–1″ total for the minimum recommended shield width. Add this once, not to each side. You can choose a wider look.
Phenix TL-2: Usually needs 6.25″ or 6.5″ of width. Choose the correct height first.
Sizes are listed height × width. Check this design’s available options. See our fire helmet shield measuring guide for photos and the helmet reference chart.
We do not punch mounting holes. Use our shield mounting guide to position and punch them for your helmet’s hardware.
These options are not offered on every shield. When available on a design, the explanations below show what each option changes in the finished shield.
Mounting your fire helmet shield is simple when you line it up correctly and drill or punch the holes the right way. Start by matching the shield to your helmet’s holder, check alignment, and mark your hole positions before drilling or punching. Once the hardware is secured, tighten everything evenly and break it in so it sits clean and square.
