Plan Colors and Mix Custom Shades

Lay out the background, lettering, and accent colors before you begin. Dispense small amounts into a separate palette when mixing, and record the proportions if you will need the same shade again. Test the dried result on matching scrap leather to check coverage and contrast before committing to a visible area.

The water based acrylic paints are made to remain flexible on properly prepared leather. Clean and prepare the surface, allow it to dry, and apply thin coats. Leave 15 to 30 minutes between layers and at least 24 hours before using or flexing the finished item. Other materials may require Angelus additives and different preparation.
