Shield Description
The Classic Leather Firefighter Helmet Shield is an old-school custom front built around a traditional rocker-style identification layout. It is intended for firefighters who want familiar fire-service proportions with more finish choices than the minimalist Bare Bones or Standard Issue designs.
Arrange the available department, company, rank, name, or identifier fields through the live customization tool. Select the lettering, outlines, shadows, and colors offered by the builder, then review the complete design before ordering.
Traditional layout with optional leather detailing
Each Classic shield is handmade from full-grain leather. The available product options let you choose a textured or smooth main body and determine whether additional beveling is included.
Textured or smooth body
A textured body adds a tooled surface across the main leather area. Choosing smooth keeps the face flatter and places more emphasis on the lettering and color arrangement.
Optional beveling
Beveling adds dimensional definition around the selected design areas. Choose it when you want a more deeply worked leather appearance; leave it off for a cleaner, flatter presentation.
These choices allow the Classic layout to range from a restrained traditional shield to a more heavily detailed presentation.
The Classic identity remains recognizable across every available finish combination.
Sizing and mounting
Select the shield dimensions that match the helmet and shield holder using the available size options. Measure the mounting area before ordering. The shield ships unpunched so the hole placement can be matched to the customer’s helmet hardware.

How to Choose the Right Size Fire Helmet Shield

- A tooled texture applied to the face of the leather. It adds visual bite and gives the shield a more aggressive, high-contrast look.
Smooth
- No surface texture added. The leather face remains flat and clean, giving the shield a sharper, more traditional appearance with full focus on layout and lettering.
Beveling/Tooling
- Hand-carved and stamped tooling with beveled detail around borders, numbers, or design elements. Adds depth and definition to the leather.

How to Mount your Fire Helmet Shield
Mounting your fire helmet shield is simple when you line it up correctly and drill or punch the holes the right way. Start by matching the shield to your helmet’s holder, check alignment, and mark your hole positions before drilling or punching. Once the hardware is secured, tighten everything evenly and break it in so it sits clean and square.

Love the shield, and the product. Did take a little while to get to me just due to the store only bring open 4 days a week. I do believe there should be an option to com with pre drilled holes, because when you are someone like me and can measure you end up drilling wholes in the wrong place as I endrd up doing.

Store owner replied: We will never off an option for pre drilled there are to many different helmets to guarantee the holes will be in the right place. There is also a full proof guide on each shield page so you don't need to measure. We are working more than 4 days a week. We are only open to the public 4 days a week. Looks like the order also shipped almost 2 weeks sooner than advertised.
Great product easy install instructions quick turn around without a sacrifice in quality or workmanship. Sort of wish it had the brass reinforcement band on the back but love it just the same.
